Supporting Services for Generations to Come

Jacob Czerwieniec was a successful local businessman who lived in Loleta, California for 40 years. His strong work ethic, community spirit and gentle manner were well known by Loleta residents. Upon his death in 1999 the Czerwieniec Estate Trustees carried out his wishes that his assets be used to benefit local nonprofit organizations.

In 2001 the Trustees announced that the Area 1 Agency on Aging (A1AA) would receive a gift of $1.7 million from the estate of Jacob Czerwieniec. Income generated from the generous gift would be used to provide and sustain quality senior programs in Humboldt or Del Norte Counties for years to come.

The gift represented an incredible opportunity for the Agency to establish a Jacob Czerwieniec Endowment Fund that, in perpetuity, will provide additional funds to enable the A1AA to extend a helping hand to older adults.
