The Agency staff performs a number of support functions. These include needs assessment, planning, legislative review, and technical assistance. Support and education is offered to nutrition programs by the Agency's consultant registered dietitian. Outreach is an important part of our service delivery methods - taking information directly to persons who live in more remote parts of the two counties.
The Agency provides many supportive programs that assist in unique ways. During 2002-03, the Agency's direct services were provided to over 15,000 people.
To further meet its objectives, the A1AA contracts with other agencies to deliver services that assist the elderly, helping them remain in their homes as long as possible. Working to ensure an effective and efficient system of service delivery, the A1AA annually monitors its contracted services and provides technical assistance as needed.
