The A1AA enters into contractual relationships with Humboldt Senior Resource Center, Del Norte Senior Center, Healy Senior Center and K'ima:w Medical Center to provide senior dining sites and home delivered meals in various locations.
The Agency's registered dietitian provides support, training and technical assistance to the four nutrition contractors. The dietitian is also responsible for monitoring the programs and ensuring that food service regulations are adhered to. She also develops menus, reviews recipes, and assists with equipment purchases. Nutrition education for program participants is provided on a regular basis.
In addition to the meal programs, the Agency also coordinates the distribution of Senior Farmers' Market coupons to eligible persons and provides support to the Brown Bag Program - a food distribution service for eligible persons.
