The Volunteer Driver Program is funded entirely by donations and grants. 

Program Purpose

This program operates solely for the transportation to and from healthcare appointments in Humboldt County.

Intake Process

To schedule an intake please call (707) 442-3763.

 Program Hours

Operating hours of the program are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30p.m. 

Eligible passengers must call at least 5 business days in advance prior to appointment to schedule transportation.

 Eligible Passengers

Seniors (age 50 and over) who are living independently and have limited resources. Our program covers the areas from Trinidad to Scotia and inland to Blue Lake. 

Screening

Potential clients must be screened and agree to the program guidelines before rides can be scheduled. Screening may be done by phone and signed Rider Guideline form may be mailed or faxed.

Scheduling a Ride

Collect the following information:

Name, address, and telephone number of eligible passenger’s home, or where they desire to be picked up.

Date and time of appointment.  Location (including address and telephone number) of physician’s office.
