Safely Out Project
The Area 1 Agency on Aging (A1AA) Information and Assistance Program provides workshops about using and completing Safely Out kits (information below), as well as one-on-one assistance completing the kits. These kits are available for free at the Area 1 Agency on Aging. Call the A1AA Information and Assistance Program to request a kit or for information about how to complete and use the packet.
The Citizens Voice SAFELY OUT (TM) Project was developed with technical assistance from the Red Cross Sacramento Sierra Chapter, and is designed specifically to ensure our most vulnerable citizens, including people with disabilities, frail older adults, and children are more protected during disaster.
The SAFELY OUT (TM) Project kits meet 7 critical needs identified during Huricane Katrina for safe evacuation. It's a neighbor helping neighbor approach to assist in the safe evacuation of all, especially the most vulnerable.
